Dragami Games confirmed at Tokyo Game Show 2026 an R-rated film adaptation and a sequel for PlayStation 5.
Image from Anitsu's original edition. Dragami Games confirmed at Tokyo Game Show 2026 that Lollipop Chainsaw will get a live-action film. The project was described as an R-rated action comedy set before the events of the original 2012 game.
The film will follow Juliet Starling, the chainsaw-wielding cheerleader from a family of professional zombie hunters, during her time at San Romero High School. No director, screenwriter, or cast has been announced yet, and there is no release window either.
The producing team includes Joe Teng of Nada Holdings, Robert Franke of Orange Chariot, Takafumi Yuki of Throne Inc., Kirk Shaw of Ambitious Entertainment, and Patricio Rabuffetti of Non Stop TV. Franke noted that the goal is "a film that entertains audiences worldwide, whether they've played the game or not."
The announcement came alongside Lollipop Chainsaw 2: Back2Back, a sequel planned for PlayStation 5 in 2027, and an animated series in development. Together, they suggest a full franchise relaunch by Dragami Games.
