Hagure Idol: Jigoku-hen confirms anime for January 2027

Hagure Idol: Jigoku-hen is getting an anime adaptation. WWWave Corporation's Deregula label opened the series' official site this Friday and confirmed that it will premiere in January 2027.

The announcement came with the main cast, the production team, and a commemorative illustration. Studio Raiose is in charge of the project, with Takashi Andou directing and Eiyo Kurosaki handling series composition.

Misora Haebaru will be voiced by Hisako Toujou, whom we know from Berserk of Gluttony. Nao Shiraki will play Sarah Goujima, Natsumi Murakami will play Yun-Hui Choi, and Hikaru Iida will play Nene Koori.

A tournament where losing everything is literal

The story follows Misora Haebaru, an 18-year-old karate expert who arrives in Tokyo with the dream of becoming a singer. Her managers trick her and she ends up in the adult entertainment industry. Her only way out is to survive a martial arts tournament against one hundred male opponents.

If she loses, the price is high. The synopsis from Seven Seas Entertainment leaves no doubt about the tone of the series: ecchi comedy with fights and racy situations.

A manga with a long history

Rui Takatou began publishing the manga in Bessatsu Manga Goraku in April 2014. It then moved through several Nihonbungeisha magazines, with a hiatus between September 2022 and March 2024. Since June 2025 it has been serialized in Goraku Web!.

Volume 19 went on sale on April 28. There is also a spin-off titled Hagure Idol Jigoku-hen Gaiden: Princess Sarah, which ran between April and December 2015.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English under its Ghost Ship imprint, aimed at adult readers, in omnibus editions of two volumes in one. Volumes 17 and 18 went on sale in July.

The franchise also had a live-action film produced by Sedic Deux, released in Japan in September 2020.

The anime will arrive in the winter 2027 season.
