The Dangers in My Heart season 3 premieres in April 2027
The new teaser confirms the date and arrives just as the manga has ended with volume 14.
The third season of The Dangers in My Heart (Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu) has a premiere month: April 2027. The anime's official site confirmed it this Friday with a teaser trailer and a promotional image.
The announcement comes at a particular moment for the franchise. Akita Shoten published volume 14 of Norio Sakurai's manga the same Friday, the last one in the story. The series ended its serialization on September 15 and with this closes its run in print for good.
The third season will pick up the story of Kyotaro Ichikawa and Anna Yamada, the couple that has carried the series since 2018. He is a boy who believes he is the tortured protagonist of a psychological thriller and spends his days imagining ways to ruin his classmates' peace. She is the class idol. Neither of them is exactly what they seem, and that is the heart of the romantic comedy.
From the magazine to the anime, with a movie in between
The manga began in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion in March 2018, but it did not last long there: in April of that same year it moved to the Champion Cross website and, after the platforms merged, ended up on Manga Cross in July 2018. Since then it grew into one of the most followed romances in recent shōnen.
The anime's first season aired in Japan in April 2023 within TV Asahi's NUMAnimation block. HIDIVE streamed it outside Japan and Netflix carried it in several countries outside the United States and Canada. The second season arrived in January 2024, also with HIDIVE handling streaming and with an English dub.
Between one season and the next there was a movie. The Dangers in My Heart: The Movie, a compilation film, opened in Japan on February 13 of this year. HIDIVE screened it in the United States on February 16 with subtitles and on the 18 with the dub. According to official data, it sold more than 170,000 tickets worldwide, with screenings in the United States, Latin America, France, Germany, Italy, and parts of Asia.
The manga ends, but the franchise continues
The end of the manga does not mean the end of the The Dangers in My Heart universe. The franchise has already had a light novel adaptation written by Kota Nozomi, author of When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace, with illustrations by Sakurai and sune. It came out in Japan in September 2024.
There is also the spinoff Twi-Yaba, which had its own anime in December 2023. And in July 2025 Haika Nanasaka launched another spinoff on Champion Cross: Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu Love Comedy ga Hajimaranai (The Dangers in My Heart: A Romantic Comedy Will Not Start).
For now, the season 3 teaser does not reveal cast or production staff details. Only the premiere window. It remains to be seen if HIDIVE will return as the international platform or if Netflix will join again in some territories. The announcement does not clarify it.

I'm more interested in how Ichikawa and Yamada get along than the facade they show to everyone else.
