The live-action film of Wandance now has a long trailer. The new preview shows dance scenes of Kabo, Wanda, Iori, and Usen, and lets you hear «For us», the main theme performed by &TEAM. The Japanese theatrical release is set for November 27, 2026.

The adaptation of Coffee's manga bets on movement as a form of expression for its protagonist. The film's official site identifies this video as the long trailer and offers a link to listen to the full song.

Who dances and who supervises each dance

Naoya Kusaba directs the film from a script by Keiichi Kobayashi. General dance supervision is handled by dancer and entrepreneur Charisma Kantarō, but each character also has a specific person responsible for their movement.

Kaboku Kotani, Kabo, is played by JO, a member of &TEAM, and his dance is supervised by Runa Miura. Hikari Wanda is Anji Ikehata, with KANU in charge of her dance. On Miyao is played by Kira Yamaguchi; akihic☆彡 supervises her dance and also choreographs TEAM ON.

Iori Itsukushima is played by RAN, from MAZZEL, with KEIN responsible for his dance. Usen Takumi is played by Aloha Takamatsu; SEIYA supervises his dance and is the choreographer for SAKAYA CREW.

The music that accompanies the film

origami PRODUCTIONS and music producer GuruConnect are in charge of the music. The list compiled by Anime News Network includes Nenashi with «Eyes on Me feat. GAPPER», «Future Heat feat. Kegan Raphael», «In This City», and «Valentine's Eve».

Kan Sano participates with «DT pt.2», «Good Luck», and «Monk's Dance». Shingo Sekiguchi contributes «Deep Sea», «Funky Sunshine», «Lights», «The Friendship Of K&W», and its acoustic version. Shingo Suzuki adds «Colors feat. KIKI», «Drift», «Drop», and «SNAP!». Michael Kaneko and mabanua are listed as participating artists, with no song titles specified in the list.

From GuruConnect, the list includes «Boom Bang!!», «Ghost Dog», «Insight», «Juice», «Karma», «Light It Up», «New Steps», and «Move feat. E.V.P». Added to that is SWING-O with «Pop To The Top feat. MARU».

From manga to film: two versions of the same story

The manga synopsis used by Kodansha USA Publishing presents Kaboku as a boy used to following the expectations of his parents, school, and surroundings. That safety leaves him with a feeling of emptiness until he sees Hikari Wanda dancing alone at school. Her way of taking over the space awakens in him the desire to move too.

Wanda is part of the hip-hop dance club, made up almost entirely of girls with far more experience than him. Getting close to that world forces Kaboku out of his comfort zone: the uncertainty that scares him so much opens, at the same time, a first possibility of freedom. The publisher presents the manga as a story of personal growth for readers of Blue Period and Your Lie in April.

The film version changes some details. The film's official website places Kabo as a university student who starts working as a night guard and meets Wanda while she dances in front of the glass windows of a building. From that encounter, he gets closer to the university group TEAM ON.

Coffee began Wandance in Afternoon magazine in 2019, and the manga is also published on Kodansha's Magazine Pocket app. The Japanese volume 15 came out in December 2025; volume 16 is scheduled for November 20, 2026. Kodansha USA Publishing has the English edition of volume 14 scheduled for November 10.

The TV anime adaptation debuted in Japan in October 2025, with simultaneous distribution on Disney+. The live-action film will arrive in Japanese theaters on November 27, 2026.
