Captain Tsubasa II: World Fighters shows its story trailer
Bandai Namco reviews Japan's road to the Youth World Cup with new game details
Captain Tsubasa II: World Fighters now has a story trailer. Bandai Namco has released it to show the journey that awaits us in this new soccer game based on the Captain Tsubasa manga and anime, known in Spain as Oliver y Benji.
The game will launch on August 28, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Digital pre-orders are already open on all platforms, and there are physical editions for consoles.
In this adventure, we follow Tsubasa Ozora and his team from the qualifying stage to the Youth World Cup. Before reaching the big event, they face rivals like Thailand, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, and China, where technical precision and strategy will make the difference. Every victory counts for Japan to secure a spot among the best.
Game scene with characters in action in a stadium.Once in the Youth World Cup, the level rises. We will face legendary teams like Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Cameroon, Sweden, and the Netherlands. The pressure will be enormous and skill won't be enough: perseverance will decide between glory and defeat.
More spectacular soccer
The on-field action has been improved with the Super Action Soccer system, which chains spectacular plays to create memorable matches. We can dominate the pitch with special techniques for passing, dribbling, tackling, or blocking, like in the best moments of the anime.
A player in a yellow and blue jersey, with a glowing ball around him.Even stopping a shot on goal becomes more tactical. The new system pits the goalkeeper against the striker in a direct duel, so both players can counter those super shots and impossible blocks that we loved from the original series.
The soundtrack also has a nod for fans: Tadayoshi Makino returns as composer after the previous Captain Tsubasa game, this time with over 80 new tracks.
Two players surrounded by visual effects representing intense action.Bandai Namco has detailed that the game has no relation to the FIFA World Cup. It is simply Tsubasa and his national team's road to the Youth World Cup, with all the drama that implies.
