First Oshi no Ko puzzle game opens pre-registration worldwide
NHN launches global pre-orders for 'Oshi no Ko Puzzle Star' on Google Play and the App Store with sign-up rewards.
NHN has opened global pre-registration for Oshi no Ko Puzzle Star this October 20, the first official puzzle game based on the Oshi no Ko anime. The title will arrive on Google Play and the Apple App Store with text in Korean, Japanese, English, simplified Chinese, and traditional Chinese.
It's a tile-matching game, the kind where you connect blocks of the same color to clear levels, and each character in the series has their own skill and special animation when you use it. So it's not just matching pieces for the sake of it: fans will be able to play with their favorite characters and watch them show off on screen.
The game also includes a mode called Memory Board, which lets you revisit the main arcs of the anime as a collection. For anyone who has already gotten lost between seasons, it's an easy way to refresh the story without having to rewatch the whole thing.
Rewards for pre-registering before launch
NHN has confirmed that, once the game is available globally, all players will receive Ai's B-Komachi outfit and customization items, plus items to clear levels and diamonds equivalent to a 10-pull. Pre-registration costs nothing, so the rewards come just for signing up ahead of time.
The head of NHN's game division, Jung Joong-jae, explained in the announcement that, since this is the franchise's first official puzzle game, they have prepared these launch rewards for all players, including Ai's B-Komachi outfit and the customization items.
Oshi no Ko, created by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, is one of those series that mixes the entertainment world with some pretty harsh drama, and its anime already has a fourth season confirmed. The third season aired in the first quarter of this year, so the game arrives with the franchise in a very active moment.
For now NHN has not given a concrete release date, only that pre-registration is already open worldwide. We'll have to keep an eye on the game's store page to see when it can be downloaded.
