Destiny Unchain Online anime announced for 2027 with Ikumi Hasegawa as Crim

Destiny Unchain Online has confirmed its anime adaptation with a first trailer and a promotional image. The premiere is set for 2027, though there is still no concrete date or a more specific release window.

The announcement also revealed part of the voice cast. Ikumi Hasegawa will play Crim, the name Kou Mitsuki uses inside the game. Hasegawa is known for voicing Aya in Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games.

A vampire girl in her father's MMORPG

The story follows Kou Mitsuki, a player with extraordinary skills who goes by Crim the Headhunter. Her life changes when she decides to try Destiny Unchain Online, the new MMORPG developed by her father, along with a virtual reality device.

A system error causes Kou to end up transformed into a young vampire girl. From there, she will have to adapt to her new appearance and figure out how to get around inside the game, where she will meet new friends and face different challenges.

Creative team and studio

The production already has confirmed names. Koichi Hatsumi (Tokyo Revengers) directs the series, with Seiko Takagi (Yona of the Dawn) on series composition. Masashi Kudo (BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War) is in charge of character design.

Music is handled by Yuki Hayashi, Yuki Furuhashi, and Hayato. Animation is produced by studio Voil, known for Even a Replica Can Fall in Love.

The first teaser offers a look at the series' universe and previews the visual style of the adaptation.

Destiny Unchain Online began as a light novel written by Resn and illustrated by Yachimoto, with the original title Destiny Unchain Online: How I Became the Crimson Devil. The work has three volumes published in Japan under the Kodansha Ranobe Books label. There is also a manga adaptation illustrated by Yachimoto.

With the trailer, the promotional image, and the production details already on the table, all that's left is to wait for new updates to find out exactly when it will arrive in 2027.
