My Husband is a Doomsday Weapon ends its serialization
The manga by Yuki Amemiya and Yukino Ichihara wraps up in Japan and prepares for its English debut with Kodansha USA on December 22.
The manga My Husband is a Doomsday Weapon, by Yuki Amemiya and Yukino Ichihara, has ended its serialization in Japan. The series debuted in November 2024 and closes a short run.
While the Japanese publication comes to an end, Kodansha USA will release the first volume in English on December 22. The schedule creates an odd situation: English-speaking readers will be able to start the story just as Japan is already saying goodbye to it.
An ending with little mileage
The series says farewell without having accumulated dozens of volumes. It is an action and fantasy title with supernatural elements that never got an anime season.
The production flow followed the usual model for serialized manga: chapters in a magazine, later collected into volumes, and an international license. The end of the serialization and the release of the tankoubon in the foreign market coincide on a tight calendar, something common in short-lived titles.
A doomsday weapon that, apparently, had its days numbered from the first chapter.
The first volume in English will arrive in physical and digital formats via Kodansha USA. The international license allows English-speaking readers to access the start of the story even though the serialization has already ended.
