Blobtopia, Jun Kirarazaka's manga, ends in three chapters
The November 6 chapter will be a side story
Blobtopia (Buyotopia) will end in three chapters. Jun Kirarazaka announced it on Friday on his X account, and the chapter published on November 6 will be a side story.
The series debuted on March 13 on Shonen Jump+, Shueisha's manga service. Shueisha published the second compiled volume on September 4.
MANGA Plus publishes the manga in English and describes the story like this: unable to defeat the Demon King, the former hero Beyond ends up flooding the world with "blobs." Consumed by guilt, he locks himself away for years, until a turning point finally arrives. It's an over-the-top "hero vs. society" comedy.
An author with a brief run in Jump
Kirarazaka is no stranger to Weekly Shonen Jump readers. He launched Bone Collection in the magazine in April 2020 and ended it in August of the same year. Before that, in August 2019, he published a one-shot with the same name.
His other series, Do Retry, debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2023 and ended in September. Viz Media and MANGA Plus published both manga in English digitally.
With Blobtopia, Kirarazaka moved to the Shonen Jump+ ecosystem. The premise, with a hero who floods the world with jelly-like creatures, fits his line of absurd comedies.
The announcement doesn't clarify whether the ending will be in three consecutive weekly chapters or if there will be breaks between them. Nor does it mention when the third compiled volume will come out in Japan.
