The Charisma anime arrives in January 2027 with a new trailer and cast

The Charisma franchise celebrated its fifth anniversary on November 1 with the "Charismania" event at Toyosu PIT in Tokyo, and the announcements came one after another. The big one: the TV anime premieres on January 7, 2027 in the Thursday 11:56 p.m. timeslot, airing simultaneously on all 28 TBS-affiliated stations.

The first teaser trailer finally shows footage from the anime, with the seven charismatic protagonists going about their chaotic daily lives in a share house. It's exactly what we expected from this story: pure mayhem with characters who think they're superhuman.

Two more names for the cast

Along with the trailer, two new additions to the cast were confirmed. Shinnosuke Tachibana plays Sōemon Nakagami and Tomohiro Ōno voices Shū Torahime. They join the seven protagonists we already knew: Yūki Ono as Fumiya Itō, Masahiro Yamanaka as Rikai Kusanagi, Katsumi Fukuhara as Iori Honda, Kenta Hosoda as Kei Sarukawa, Sakō Hinata as Ōse Minato, Genki Ōkawa as Terra, and Tomohisa Hashizume as Tenhiko Tendō.

On the technical side, Charisma is in the hands of PIERROT FILMS, with Jōji Furuta directing and Shū Matsubara handling series composition and scripts. Music is by Gesshoku Kaigi, a name that has already worked on several musical productions for the EVIL LINE RECORDS label.

New song and early screening

The teaser includes a new song, "Mite Mite Anime no Charisma," which hits digital platforms on November 4 at midnight. It's a version with changed lyrics of the theme TBS uses on the program All-Star Kanshasai, and pre-orders open today. Those who pre-order through the official campaign receive a wallpaper with the single's cover art.

There will also be an early screening with a cast greeting on December 6 at HUMAX Cinemas in Ikebukuro. Episodes 1 and 2 will be shown before the TV premiere, with the voices of the seven protagonists in attendance. As a gift for attendees, an "off-season" folding fan. The ticket lottery is now open.

A warm-up in the form of shorts

To get things started, a Charisma short anime will air starting November 4 within TBS's Yoru no Brunch program, every Wednesday at 11:56 p.m. It's a way to introduce the characters before the main event in January.
