Enako to perform opening for Isshiki-san wa Koi wo Shiritai anime

The cosplayer will sing "Gō yoku koi o seisu!?", with lyrics and arrangement by Yashikin, for the January 2027 premiere

Javier Fernández 31 October 2026

The anime adaptation of Isshiki-san wa Koi wo Shiritai (Ms. Isshiki Wants to Know About Love) now has an opening theme performer. Cosplayer Enako will provide vocals for the anime's opening, which premieres in January 2027. The announcement was made on October 31 during the "Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Fest 2026", known as "Ikebukuro Halloween".

The series is based on the manga published in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine. Enako took part in the event and her involvement in the project was confirmed there.

The song is titled "Gō yoku koi o seisu!?" and features lyrics, composition, and arrangement by Yashikin. According to the description provided by the organizers, the theme reflects the bewilderment of the protagonist, a rigid and serious elite police officer, when faced with her first crush. They describe it as a catchy track with a fast-paced sound, meant to convey the character's romantic clumsiness and pop energy.

An elite police officer faces her first love

The series follows Rinna Isshiki, a young woman who graduated at the top of her university class and became an inspector in a special unit dedicated to contemporary crime at just 17. Her intelligence and coldness have earned her the nickname "steel". Everything changes when she meets Meishi Rokutanda, a clumsy detective who assists with the investigation and with whom she begins to experience palpitations she cannot explain.

To figure out what is happening to her, Meishi suggests they go out together as a fake couple. From there, the story becomes a romantic comedy in which two beginners in love confront what the work itself describes as "a difficult case called first love".

The original manga, by Ayune Araragi, is still in publication. The eleventh collected volume goes on sale on December 24, with the first ten already available.

Enako, from cosplay to the recording studio

Enako is one of the most far-reaching cosplayers in Japan: she has over six million followers across her social media. Her activity goes beyond cosplay and includes photo shoots for magazines, television, commercials, and events. At the "Top Cover Awards 2026" she took first place globally for the second year in a row, which earned her entry into the contest's hall of fame.

The statement highlights her role as a promoter of cosplay culture and her ability to move between genres. With this project she adds a new facet, that of anime opening singer, to a career that already spans multiple formats.

The anime adaptation will premiere in January 2027. The news does not specify the animation studio, the voice cast, or the streaming platforms outside Japan.

I think having the opening with a fast-paced sound to express Rinna's bewilderment seems like a good idea: so serious on the outside, yet all sped up on the inside 😅 I'm curious how the visuals will accompany it, whether they'll show that contrast or lean more toward the romantic side.

I'm curious that Rinna treats her first crush like another case to solve. I hope the fake couple helps her learn to ask the other person what they feel, in addition to analyzing her own heart palpitations. That contrast between being so capable at investigating and not knowing how to talk about love could be really amusing.
