Halloween illustration for The Exiled Heavy Knight with Elymas and Ruche
GoHands draws Ruche as the Patched Bear and Brocco Lee draws Elymas as Patchworque
The The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System anime has released a new Halloween illustration with Elymas and Ruche dressed as monsters. The image arrives while the series is still airing, with a new episode every Thursday on Crunchyroll.
The Ruche illustration is by GoHands, the studio animating the series. She appears as the Patched Bear, a monster from the first dungeon she explored with Elymas. The Elymas one is by Brocco Lee, artist of the original manga, and shows him as Patchworque, the monster that appears in the main promotional video for the second part of the anime.

The story starts from a common genre premise: the Heavy Knight is a defense-focused class, designed to draw enemy attacks and protect allies. But its skills lack versatility and its offensive power is too low to level up normally. That's why it's considered not just a disadvantaged class, but outright defective.
Elymas is born into the Edvaughn house, a lineage of master swordsmen. During the Baptisma, the decisive ceremony for the heir, he manifests that defective class. He is stripped of his position as head of the family and exiled without a second thought. At that moment he recovers the memories of his previous life and discovers that the world is identical to Magic World, the virtual reality game he obsessively played before dying. And Elymas already knows something others don't: the Heavy Knight is the strongest class of all.
Exiled and turned into a solo adventurer, Elymas makes the most of his knowledge from his past life and starts conquering the world efficiently.
The manga, an original work by Nekoko, Brocco Lee, and Jaian, is published in Kodansha's Young Magazine and has over three million copies in circulation. The anime is directed by Katsumasa Yokomine, with Shingo Suzuki as chief director. Keiji Tani and Takayuki Uchida handle character design, and Ludvig Forssell composes the music. Production is by GoHands, with SHOCHIKU anime as lead producer.
The Halloween illustration arrives with the series mid-broadcast and with the two leads dressed as creatures from the story itself.
