World Trigger Goes on Hiatus Again: What's Happening with the Manga?

Fans of World Trigger have once again received worrying news. Daisuke Ashihara's manga will go on hiatus in the next issue of Jump SQ, scheduled for February 4. The reason, as on previous occasions, is the author's health, as he will not be able to continue with the publication of the corresponding chapter.

When Does World Trigger Return?

The official account of Jump SQ magazine confirmed the news through a statement:

"In the next issue of Jump SQ, which comes out on February 4, the manga will go on hiatus due to the author's poor health. We regret the situation for readers who were looking forward to the chapter. The return is scheduled for the following issue, on March 4. We appreciate your understanding."

Although the hiatus is temporary, Ashihara's health condition remains a source of concern among fans of the series.

Why Does World Trigger Go on Hiatus So Often?

Since its debut in 2013, World Trigger has suffered multiple interruptions due to its author's health. In 2014, publisher Shueisha revealed that Daisuke Ashihara suffers from cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, a condition that causes nerve compression in the neck and leads to intense pain.

Over the years, the series has experienced recurring hiatuses, although it has not been confirmed whether the illness remains the main cause or if there are other health issues affecting the author.

Despite the Hiatuses, World Trigger Remains a Success

Despite these interruptions, World Trigger maintains its popularity within the world of manga and anime. As of July 2023, the series had reached 15 million copies in circulation and has been adapted into animation with three seasons produced by Toei Animation, totaling 99 episodes.
