Planeta Cómic Fest returns to Providencia with Raquel Riba Rossy and the Blue Lock movie
The third edition of the free festival brings the creator of Lola Vendetta, workshops, signings, and a screening of the anime based on the manga of the same name.
The third edition of Planeta Cómic Fest has a date and a program. The free festival dedicated to comics, manga, illustration, and graphic novels will take place on Saturday, November 14 at the Fundación Cultural de Providencia, at Nueva Providencia 1995, steps from Pedro de Valdivia Metro station. The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Organized by Grupo Planeta and the Fundación Cultural de Providencia, the event will bring together Chilean authors and, for the first time in its history, an international guest: Spanish artist Raquel Riba Rossy, creator of Lola Vendetta.
The creator of Lola Vendetta comes to Chile for the first time
Riba Rossy will play a leading role during the day. In addition to live illustration, she will present the talk The universe of Lola Vendetta: comics, humor, and rebellion, where she will discuss the creative process behind one of the most successful characters in contemporary Spanish-language graphic novels.
Diego González, manager of the Planeta Cómic label in Chile, said this edition not only brings together prominent voices in Chilean illustration and graphic novels, but also welcomes an international guest for the first time. "It will be a unique opportunity to meet the authors and celebrate the enormous creative wealth that exists today in the world of comics and illustration," he said.
Manga, anime, and workshops on the program
The manga block will have a strong moment at noon, when the foundation's auditorium hosts the presentation of La entidad de las máscaras, the new horror manga by Paulina Palacios. Afterward there will be a book signing with limited spots.
For anime fans, the venue's Plaza Central will screen the Blue Lock movie, an adaptation of the manga saga of the same name. The film joins a program that includes Yoyo Salfate illustrating live from early on, and later activities around titles such as Alegría y Sofía Kaos 5 by Daniela Thiers, Dragón: el mito alrededor del mundo by José Luis Flores and Carlos Herrera, and Sube el nivel by Fernanda Frick.
The 2026 edition adds a workshop block for the first time. Guido Salinas and Sebastián Castro, authors of Guardianes del sur, will lead one at 11:00 a.m., and Félix Vega will guide another session at 1:00 p.m.
In the afternoon, Claudio y la isla de la fantasía by Ignacio Concha and Nicolás Pérez de Arce, Juan Buscamares Redux by Félix Vega, and Maldito dinero by Carlos Tromben and Malaimagen will be presented. The closing will be led by Alberto Montt with Tratado sobre el mejor país de Chile, followed by an illustration duel between Montt and Riba Rossy.
Astronomer José Maza will also be present with a talk about his illustrated book El sistema solar para niños y niñas. And for those who want to add titles to their shelves, the Grupo Planeta sales stand will have special discounts throughout the day.
