Togenashi Toge Ari's Hong Kong concert airs on TV on December 28
TBS Channel 1 premieres the special with the full live show and unreleased backstage footage.
TBS Channel 1 will air the special Togenashi Toge Ari in HONG KONG "Rinne no Kotowari" LIVE & Backstage Special Edition on December 28, 2026. The program covers the concert the band gave on October 2, 2026 in Hong Kong, their first solo stage in that city, and adds exclusive footage from the moments before the show.
The broadcast is scheduled for 22:00 (Japan time) and will be the first time this live show airs on television, exclusively. It can also be watched simultaneously through "SKY PerfecTV! Program Distribution" on computers, tablets, and smartphones. Those who miss it will have a week of archive access to catch up.
A project born from anime that jumped to the real stage
Togenashi Toge Ari is the band born from the Girls Band Cry project, Toei Animation's original anime. The idea was never to bring together voice actors who already knew how to play: the concept was to start from scratch in both animation and music. The members were chosen through an audition organized by agehasprings and debuted as a real group before the anime premiered.
That bet on uniting character and performer worked. The phrase "Let's aim for Budokan!" stopped being a script dream when the band filled the Nippon Budokan in September 2025 with 12,000 people. Since then, the project moves with the same ease between anime audiences and the music scene.
What the special includes
The Hong Kong concert setlist includes "Zattou, Bokura no Machi," the anime's opening theme, and "Namonaki Nanimokamo," their debut song. The special doesn't stop at the live show: it also shows the backstage with the tension before the start and scenes of the members walking around the city.
It's footage meant to show the band outside the character, in their most everyday version. The crossover between animated and real is exactly what makes this project unique, and it shows in every segment of the program.
The broadcast requires a subscription to TBS Channel 1 within the SKY PerfecTV! service.
