Ramen Aka Neko anime reveals second season visual and January premiere

The second season of Ramen Aka Neko now has an official image and premiere date. The production has unveiled the main poster for Ramen Aka Neko Sono Ni, which brings together all the series' characters and confirms its return to Japanese television in January 2027 on TV Tokyo and its affiliate stations.

The new visual is by Chiba Michinori, character designer and chief animation director. The illustration shows the restaurant's full team, including the latest addition to the cast: Jewel, the new cat joining the business. Under the slogan "Lots of fun, enjoy!", the feline employees appear surrounded by noodles and other ingredients flying through the air.

The first season of Ramen Aka Neko aired in 2024 and adapted the manga of the same name by Angyaman, published on Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ platform since March 14, 2022. The story follows Tamako, a human who starts working at a ramen restaurant run by cats, and the peculiar feline staff who run it.

A team that returns to lead the production

For this new batch of episodes, studio E&H production is once again handling the animation. The main staff from the first season also return: Shimizu Hisatoshi as director, Murase Shigeru in charge of scripts and series composition, and Matsuoka Hirotaka on music. Production is by E&H production and Good Smile Company.

The voice cast keeps the original actors. Tsuda Kenjirō voices Bunzō, Sugiyama Noriaki voices Sasaki, Murase Miyuri voices Sabu, Kugimiya Rie voices Hana, Hayami Saori voices Krishna, and Orihara Kurumi voices the protagonist, Tamako. The only announced addition is Hatanaka Tasuku as Jewel.

The manga combines a workplace story with everyday cat scenes, and the second season will expand the restaurant's staff with this new character. The exact premiere date within January has not been set yet, so we'll have to wait for TV Tokyo's schedule announcement to know the exact day.
