The second part of Chainsaw Man, known as the Academy Saga, officially concluded with the publication of its chapter 232 on Shueisha's digital service Shonen Jump+. The announcement came abruptly on March 10, when the franchise's official Japanese account confirmed that chapter 231 was already available and that the next one would be the last.

The ending brings to a close the stage that began in July 2022, after the conclusion of the first part in December 2020. Unlike that hiatus, which led to the one-shots Look Back and Goodbye, Eri by Tatsuki Fujimoto, there is still no confirmation of a third part or of the author's upcoming projects.

Chapter 231 left a grim twist: Pochita says goodbye to Denji and devours himself to erase Chainsaw Man's existence from the world. With that starting point, the Academy Saga's finale is shaping up to be one of the most talked about by readers on social media.

The franchise remains active in anime. MAPPA adapted the first 12-episode season in 2022 and released the Reze arc film in late 2025. The studio is already preparing a new project to adapt the next narrative arc of the manga.
