Winter 2026 Anime Guide: Frieren, Jujutsu Kaisen and More

Archive guide: this selection corresponds to winter 2026, not to upcoming premieres. Its original publication date is preserved, and it has been revised to correct platforms and avoid presenting a past season as current. To explore other dates, use the winter 2026 calendar.

The season brought together anticipated continuations and new adaptations with very different tones. Rather than declaring a winner before watching them, it's useful to organize them by the type of story and by whether prior installments are required.

Continuations for those already following the story

• Frieren, season 2: a return to the journey of Frieren, Fern, and Stark. Its premiere was announced for January 16.
• Jujutsu Kaisen, season 3: continuation of the conflicts after Shibuya; the Crunchyroll premiere was announced for January 8.
• Hell's Paradise, season 2: a new stage of the expedition in search of the elixir.
• Oshi no Ko, season 3: continuation of its journey through the entertainment world.
• Fire Force, final season, second part: a stretch that requires knowledge of the preceding seasons.
• Golden Kamuy, final season: continuation of the search for the gold and its opposing alliances.
• My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, season 2: return of the franchise spin-off.
• Trigun Stargaze: continuation of Trigun Stampede.

These titles appeared in Crunchyroll's winter programming. That reference documents their distribution in the season; it does not guarantee that all countries still maintain the same licenses or dub versions today.

Other stories to discover

Fate/strange Fake offers another approach to the Fate universe. Journal with Witch, also known as Ikoku Nikki, focuses on the daily life of a writer and her niece. You and I Are Polar Opposites offers a school romantic comedy. All three allow for diversifying a list dominated by major continuations.

The Darwin Incident follows Charlie, a character halfway between human and chimpanzee. The distribution reference should be checked on Prime Video and its official site, not attributed to Crunchyroll as the initial edition did.

Love Through a Prism, from WIT Studio and Yoko Kamio, arrived on Netflix on January 15, 2026. Its art academy in early 20th-century London offers a romance distinct from the contemporary school setting of other series in the season.

Chained Soldier, season 2, had a premiere announcement for January 8 on HIDIVE. That announcement corresponds to its distribution at the time and to the service's territories; it does not imply universal availability for Spanish-speaking audiences.

How to use this guide today

First choose which continuations you're caught up on, and then set aside room for a new title. Check each work's page and your country's official catalog before subscribing to a service for a single series: a historical list of premieres does not replace current availability.
