Shangri-La Frontier Season 3 Premieres on January 10, 2027

The third season of Shangri-La Frontier now has an exact date. The anime's official website confirmed that the series will return on January 10, 2027, airing on Sundays at 5:00 p.m. JST on MBS, TBS, and 28 affiliated stations across Japan.

The announcement also confirmed that the season will have two consecutive cours, meaning a continuous run with no break between blocks. The new key visual carries the tagline "混沌が爆ぜる" ("Chaos explodes") and shows Sunraku alongside the returning cast.

A Change of Setting: Galaxia Heroes: Chaos

The story will take a turn from the first two seasons. Sunraku will take a break from the world of Shangri-La Frontier to participate in the Global Game Competition, a tournament where he will compete in Galaxia Heroes: Chaos, a new VR fighting game built on the Shangri-La Frontier engine within the fiction. Together with his companions, he will face the American professional team Star Rain.

Internationally, Crunchyroll announced in August 2026, during the AnimagiC panel, that it holds the license for the third season. However, exact premiere dates for each territory and the simulcast schedule have not yet been detailed.

The announcement did not specify the total number of episodes nor formally confirm the production team and voice cast for this new installment.
