Image from the original Anitsu edition. Netflix has officially confirmed that the third season of the live-action One Piece will be titled One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta and will debut in 2027. The production, created in partnership with Shueisha and produced by Tomorrow Studios, is already underway.
The new installment will take Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hats to the desert kingdom of Alabasta, home of Princess Vivi. A rebellion threatens to divide the country, secretly fueled by Sir Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, and his criminal organization Baroque Works.
Joe Tracz and Ian Stokes return as co-showrunners. "The Alabasta saga is one of the most beloved stories in One Piece and one of our favorite arcs, so it's a great honor to bring it to life," they stated.
The announcement comes on the heels of the second season's success, which debuted at number one on Netflix's global Top 10 and holds a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
