The story follows Hina Katagiri, a student who on rainy days dreams of her childhood self playing with a mysterious boy. One day she happens upon the garden from those dreams and meets Takaaki Hongou, who mistakes her for his fiancée Hinako. Hina soon discovers that she is not in the Tokyo she knows, but in the Japan of 1907.
Kawachi serialized the manga in Kodansha's Kiss magazine from 2014 until November 2025. The 14th and final compiled volume was published on February 13, 2026, one day after the anime announcement.
Kodansha USA will publish the series in two-in-one omnibus volumes starting in fall 2026. Additionally, a spin-off set after the main story will begin serialization in fall 2026.
