Image from Anitsu's original edition. The second season of Marriage Toxin is now official. The anime based on the manga by Jōmyaku and Mizuki Yoda will premiere in 2027, and the announcement came with a promotional video and a key visual. According to Animation World Network, the streaming premiere is slated for January 2027.
The main staff remains unchanged. Motonobu Hori (Carole & Tuesday) directs at Bones Film with production supervision by BONES. Kimiko Ueno writes and oversees the scripts, while Taisei Iwasaki and Yuma Yamaguchi compose the music. Kōhei Tokuoka returns as character designer and chief animation director.
The story follows Hikaru Gero, heir to a family of assassins known as the Poison Masters. To protect his sister from the obligation of producing an heir for the lineage, Hikaru decides to get married and ends up teaming up with Mei Kinosaki, a marriage swindler who was the target of his latest job. Together they take on the assassin's most difficult mission: finding a wife.
The first season premiered on April 7 and aired on Tuesdays on Kansai TV and Fuji TV as part of the late-night Ka-Anival!! block. Crunchyroll distributed it in simulcast. The manga launched in April 2022 on the Shonen Jump+ app and has already reached 18 collected volumes, licensed by Viz Media and published in English through MANGA Plus.
The new visual returns to the bridge where Gero saved Kinosaki in the first episode, with the assassin holding the Poison Masters' signature syringe and her holding a bouquet of flowers. The trailer recaps Gero's search for a wife and the Masters he faced along the way.
