KimiSen announces season 3 with teaser visual and message from the author

The sequel continues after Iska and Rin's infiltration of the Empire to rescue Sisbell, with the same staff and cast.

KADOKAWA has confirmed production of season 3 of Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen (KimiSen), the series adapting Kei Sazane's light novels. The announcement comes with a teaser visual drawn by character designer Kaori Yoshikawa, along with the first confirmations of the staff and cast.

Season II aired between April and June 2025 and ended with a clear mission: Iska and Rin had to infiltrate the Empire on Aliceliese's orders to rescue Sisbell. The third season picks up the story from that point, with the two protagonists back in imperial territory.

The teaser visual shows Iska and Rin heading to the Empire while Alice watches, a composition that sums up where the plot left off. Yoshikawa returns as character designer, so the series' style stays the same.

The author teases a season that touches the root of the story

Kei Sazane, author of the original novels, celebrated the news with a message to fans. "It's finally been announced! Season III is in production!" he writes. "I'm very excited to share this moment with the fans, the staff, and the cast. As the author, it makes me very happy that the continuation of Season II can be seen in anime."

He does ask for patience: production is still underway and it will be a while until the premiere. What he teases about the content sounds big: "Season II was a massive battle for Iska and Alice, and also a turbulent time for the Nebulis. This Season III will have development on an even larger scale and episodes that get close to the root of the story."

The official synopsis also points toward that hidden past. It mentions an encounter with the secret history of a hundred years ago, and how Iska and Alice will face their true destiny. The series continues with the war between the Empire, a power of advanced science, and the Nebulis, the country of witches who use astral magic, as its backdrop.

Same staff and same cast

The third season keeps the main staff from the previous one. Kei Sazane is credited with the original work, and the cast sees Yusuke Kobayashi return as Iska and Yumiri Hanamori as Rin Vispose. There are no changes in the key names, which usually goes over well when a sequel arrives years after the previous installment.

KADOKAWA has also published a special on YouTube, on its KADOKAWA Anime Channel, with Kobayashi and Hanamori looking back at the previous seasons and presenting the announcement. If you missed the broadcast, the archive is still available.

The first season of KimiSen aired between October and December 2020, and the second arrived in spring 2025 after a long break. With this third one now underway, the adaptation picks up the pace just as the story enters its most serious stretch.
