The illustrations introduce Ronin, Hunter, and Assassin, the three roles that will accompany the protagonist in this adaptation centered on Japanese folklore.
The anime will debut exclusively on Crunchyroll in 2027. Takanobu Mizuno directs the project at Kamikaze Douga, with scripts by Satoshi Maejima and Gen Urobuchi. Takashi Okazaki handles character design, HAYATE Inc. oversees production, and Aniplex collaborates on the project. Sony Music is credited as the music and soundtrack partner.
Ghost of Tsushima launched on PlayStation 4 in July 2020, arrived on PlayStation 5 in August 2021, and on PC in May 2024. Its multiplayer mode Legends debuted in October 2020 and was released as a standalone title in September 2021, embracing Japanese mythology rather than the historical tone of the main game.
