Image from Anitsu's original edition. The anime adaptation of Garena Free Fire now has a title and release window. The project's official account revealed that the series will be called Free Fire Daybreak and will debut in spring 2027, with a new visual as a preview.
Ken Takahashi, director of Ragna Crimson and Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, leads the project. Japanese studio Candy Box, known for Blue Archive The Animation, handles production, while Sus4 Inc. produces the music.
Kadokawa and Garena co-produce the series, with subsidiary Kadokawa Qingyu as production manager. The anime is planned for broadcast and streaming worldwide.
The original game is a third-person shooter in the battle royale genre: players drop onto an island, collect weapons and supplies, and fight to be the last one standing. Garena launched it in December 2017 and, according to Sensor Tower data, it was the most downloaded mobile game in the world between 2019 and 2021, also recording 100 million daily active users in February 2024.
