Image from the original Anitsu edition. CyberAgent has announced the production of an anime adaptation of Sensō Kyōshitsu (The Bugle Call: Song of War), the manga written by Sora Mozuku and illustrated by Higoro Tomori. The series is scheduled to begin airing and streaming in 2027.
Animation will be handled by CA Soa, a newly established studio within the CyberAgent group led by producer Masakazu Ogawa. This project will be the first title produced by the studio. Shinya Watada will serve as director, Michihiro Tsuchiya will handle series composition, and Michinori Chiba will design the characters. CG production for the action and combat sequences will be led by Shirogumi.
The story follows Luca, a young man who dreams of becoming a musician and serves as a bugler in a mercenary company. His special ability to "see sound" awakens amid the conflict, and his encounter with the Pope and other characters will change his fate. The music, composed by Hitomi Koto, will play a central role in the series and will incorporate live instruments.
Along with the announcement, a key visual and a nearly four-minute trailer were revealed. The manga is serialized in Shueisha's Jump SQ. magazine and has 13 volumes available in Japanese.
