Kurisu Makise returns to Akihabara after a year in America, reuniting with Rintarou Okabe. However, their reunion is disrupted when Okabe begins experiencing flashes of other timelines, side effects from his time traveling. These manifestations culminate in Okabe suddenly vanishing from the world, leaving only Kurisu with any memory of his existence.
