SCANDAL Announces Breakup in 2027 with Final Tour Across Japan's 47 Prefectures
The band will end its 21-year career on August 21, 2027 with a concert at Yokohama Arena
Image from Anitsu's original edition. SCANDAL announced that it will end its activities on August 21, 2027. The news came after the 20th anniversary concert held at Osaka-Jo Hall, where the four members shared the decision through a message on social media.
As their final journey together, the band will kick off a tour across Japan's 47 prefectures in October. The finale will be a solo concert at Yokohama Arena, scheduled for August 21, 2027, the date that will mark their 21st anniversary.
In the statement, the members explained that the decision was difficult and that they reached it after many conversations. "We feel that we have truly done everything we could together," they said, and thanked fans for their support over two decades in Japan and abroad.
SCANDAL consists of HARUNA (vocals and guitar), MAMI (guitar), TOMOMI (bass), and RINA (drums). The band has kept its four original members since its debut and is recognized as the longest-running active all-female band.
