Natsume Ono to launch KORORE, a new ACCA-13 spinoff, on February 25

The official account of Monthly Big Gangan magazine has confirmed that Natsume Ono will launch KORORE, a new spinoff manga of ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Department (ACCA 13-Ku Kansatsu-Ka) and BADON, on February 25, 2027. The announcement came this Monday via X/Twitter, with a preview image that shows part of the art for the new project.

As was already the case with BADON, the title KORORE corresponds to one of the thirteen territories of the Kingdom of Dowa, the shared setting that Ono built starting from ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Department. The new series will debut in the magazine's third 2027 issue, which also celebrates the fifteenth anniversary of Monthly Big Gangan with five new launches.

A universe that keeps growing

Ono published ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Department in the same magazine between June 2013 and October 2016, with six collected volumes released by Square Enix. The manga had an anime adaptation in 2017, streamed on Crunchyroll, and an OVA episode titled ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. Regards in February 2020.

The author returned to that world with BADON, published in Monthly Big Gangan from January 2019 to March 2024. Square Enix released the ninth and final volume in April 2024.

An author with a track record

Natsume Ono is no stranger to seeing her stories animated. Besides ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Department, House of Five Leaves and Ristorante Paradiso also inspired TV adaptations. Her work as a character designer appears in ghost – end of night (ghost/yoru no hate), the film that Shingo Natsume and Madhouse will open on February 11. Natsume also directed the ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Department adaptation.

The KORORE announcement comes in the middle of the magazine's fifteenth-anniversary celebration: according to the publication, the milestone includes five new serials, one-shots from several authors, and gifts for readers.
