Gintama sets up its 'Gokurakuyu Kabukicho' in 12 Japanese bathhouses starting today

The campaign with Gokurakuyu and RAKU SPA includes merchandise with new illustrations, a themed menu, four colored baths, and voice lines by Sugita Tomokazu.

The Gintama franchise keeps finding its way into everyday Japanese life. Starting today, October 22, 2026, and running until November 10, the public bath chain Gokurakuyu and RAKU SPA is turning twelve of its locations into the "Gokurakuyu Kabukicho-ten" campaign.

The rollout includes full-body illustrations drawn for the occasion, redesigned chibi characters, a themed menu, decorated baths, and original voice lines played inside the facilities.

What you can buy and eat

The merchandise is built around two types of new illustrations: full-body art and chibi characters. These are used for the collaboration's exclusive products, though the announcement doesn't detail the full catalog or the price of each item. What is known is that there will be panels, vertical banners, and tapestries with those illustrations placed around the locations as photo spots.

The menu is broken down, though. There are eight drinks, each tied to a character: Gintoki's sky blue chocolate, Shinpachi's blue lemon soda, Kagura's white and pink water, Hijikata's green melon soda, Okita's strawberry orange soda, Katsura's white and blue water, and Kamui's pink squash. All cost 880 yen with tax. The eighth drink is the collaboration drink itself, served in a reusable cup for 2,860 yen.

For food, there are seven dishes. Gintoki's Japanese sweets parfait (1,650 yen), Shinpachi's fried shrimp curry shaped like a glowing stick (2,200), Kagura's berry ice cream with daifuku that mimics her hair ornament (1,540), Hijikata's mayonnaise-loaded curry doria (1,980), Okita's spicy chorizo napolitan (1,980), Katsura's soba with eel and tempura egg (2,200), and Kamui's sweet and sour pork bowl with vegetables (1,980).

Colored baths and new voice lines

The most peculiar part is the four themed baths. Each one is inspired by a character and has a different color, though the available information doesn't specify which ones they are or how they differ beyond the visual aspect.

Sugita Tomokazu, the voice actor for Sakata Gintoki, recorded original voice lines for the occasion. These are the ones played over the internal broadcast at the twelve locations during the campaign. It's not stated whether more cast members are involved or how many tracks were recorded.

There's also a mechanic on X: following the account and posting with the campaign hashtag gives access to an exclusive postcard. The collaboration's own website warns that products and novelties may have limited stock, that everything can change without notice, and that promotional photos are for reference only.

There's no announcement of this campaign coming outside Japan, as is usually the case with these events tied to physical chains.
