Takopi no Genzai movie reveals visual and trailer with Tele theme song
The theatrical compilation adds new scenes and arrives on November 27
The movie Takopi no Genzai -Arigatou, Mata Ashita- has a new visual and a trailer that shows part of the new scenes. The theatrical compilation of the Takopi no Genzai anime opens on November 27 in Japan and brings together the six episodes of the series into one feature film.
The new art shows Takopi with Shizuka and Marina. The three of them have a mix of tenderness and sadness that fits perfectly with what the story tells. The phrase that accompanies the visual is "For you, who were always alone," and the contrast between Takopi's smile and the girls' expressions sums up the tone of the work very well.
A trailer with new scenes
The preview includes cuts we didn't see in the original version, made for this theatrical edition. We see Shizuka and Marina in the classroom, Takopi with his little yellow face (impossible not to love him), and some moments that squeeze your heart if you already know the story.
The movie isn't just a rehash: besides rearranging the six episodes, it adds new material so the big screen experience feels different. For those of us who watched the series, those extra cuts are the main hook.
The series director and scriptwriter, Shinya Iino, also talked about the release. He thanked those who followed the story and said that being able to present this compilation as director makes him happy. "The big screen and the sound will make it feel different from watching it at home," he commented.
Tele provides the main theme
The ending of the original series, "Hanasu no Sei," stayed in the memory of many. For this movie, artist Tele composed a new song titled "Rabyuu." The song was written specifically for this theatrical version.
Tele said she composed the theme thinking about the loneliness of the characters and that moment right before everything changes. "It's a song about the instant when someone stops being alone," she explained. The artist had already worked on the series, so she knows the emotional weight of the work well.
The movie opens on November 27 in Japan.
