Milky☆Subway folding table hits arcades in October
Yohei Kameyama's short series gets three Eikoh prizes between October and December, including a full bath set.
The Ginga Tokkyuu Milky☆Subway prizes start rolling out this month in Japanese entertainment centers. Eikoh is launching a line of three products inspired by the short series directed by Yohei Kameyama, with a folding table as the first release and a bath set closing the batch in December.
The schedule is clear: the folding table arrives the fourth week of October, the clear tissue holder in the fourth week of November, and the bath set —chair, bucket, and basin— in the fourth week of December. Everything will be available both at physical locations and in online claw machines, though the latter require prior registration.
This is not the first time a short anime has jumped to arcade prizes. Milky☆Subway follows the path of other small productions that find in everyday-use merchandising a way to stay in the viewer's home. Here the bet is on practical items: the folding table and the tissue holder are not collector figures, but pieces one can use daily.

Eikoh presents it as a complete set of chair, bucket, and basin, designed for the Japanese bath. It is not a simple decorative accessory: it is a functional kit that directly evokes the series' aesthetic.

Some partner stores could delay the arrival of the products, and stock will run out with no guaranteed restock. Information on participating locations will be published on the official Eikoh Prize website as it is confirmed.

On November 27, a collaboration with the Asakusa ROX sentō also kicks off. Products with new illustrations of the characters in yukata, designed for the public bath atmosphere, will be sold there, along with benefits for entering the establishment.
The collaboration with a sentō is no accident. It fits with the bath set Eikoh launches in December and reinforces the idea that Milky☆Subway wants to settle into the domestic routine, not just the collector's display case.
Kameyama directs this short series with a tone that mixes the cosmic and the everyday. The title plays with the image of the galactic train and the urban subway, a combination that already from the name anticipates that crossing between the fantastic and the familiar that now carries over to the products.
The three prizes will arrive gradually until the end of the year. If you live in Japan or use online claw services, the folding table is the first one you can look for starting the fourth week of October. Do any of the three catch your eye? Tell us in the comments.
