Summer Pockets launches 'ice cream girl' merchandise with five heroines

Anique announced a new line of Summer Pockets products with an "ice cream girl" theme. Pre-orders open on October 23 at the company's official store, Anique Shop, and the lineup includes new illustrations of five characters from the franchise.

The illustration series brings together Naruse Shiroha, Sorakado Ao, Kushima Kamome, Tsumugi Wenders, and Kato Umi. All of them appear in soft-toned maid outfits, accompanied by ice cream. The product design mimics an ice cream shop, following the world of the original illustrations.

During the sales period, Anique gives away a random bromide from five designs for every 3,300 yen spent on eligible products. The promotion applies to purchases that meet the minimum, tax included.

A franchise that remains active after the anime

Summer Pockets began as a romantic adventure game from Key, the studio behind Clannad, Air, and Little Busters!. The original version came out on June 29, 2018, and was the brand's thirteenth title. On June 26, 2020, Summer Pockets REFLECTION BLUE, an expanded version, was released.

In April 2025, the story became a TV anime with 26 episodes split across two consecutive cours. In August of the same year, while the broadcast was still ongoing, four theatrical versions premiered, which is unusual. Since then, the franchise has kept up events and pop-up shops.

The story takes place on a remote island during a summer. Key describes it as a bittersweet tale about vacation memories among a group of boys and girls. That nostalgic tone is the basis for the new merchandise, which goes for a lighter image with the heroines serving ice cream.

The line focuses on accessories and illustrated goods. Anique did not detail the full catalog in the announcement, but the promotional images show keychains with each character and stationery items with the five individual designs.

The maid-with-ice-cream theme is not new in Key franchise merchandising, but it is the first time Summer Pockets brings these five heroines together in a collection of this type. The choice of Shiroha, Ao, Kamome, Tsumugi, and Umi covers the main heroines of the original game's routes.

Pre-orders close on a date that Anique did not specify in the release. The Japanese company operates the online store and manages the production of official merchandise for several anime and video game franchises.
