NECA Launches Exclusive Usagi Yojimbo and Leonardo Autumn Edition Set

NECA has revealed a new action figure set that brings together Usagi Yojimbo and Leonardo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's an autumn edition limited to 500 units, available at Walmart Collector Con for $150.

The set is part of a four-season collection. The autumn edition is the second to be released, and it comes loaded with extras that go beyond the two 7-inch figures.

Design Inspired by the Original Manga

The first thing that stands out is the finish. Usagi and Leonardo ditch the color to appear in black and white, a direct nod to the linework of Stan Sakai, creator of the rabbit ronin. Sakai has spent decades building a manga that blends feudal Japanese history with a clean, narrative style, and this figure honors that.

Each figure includes interchangeable heads and hands, along with their signature katanas. Usagi doesn't come alone: he's joined by Tokage, his pet lizard, a detail manga readers will appreciate.

Autumn Edition Extras

The set doesn't stop at the figures. NECA and Dogu Publishing have packed in a list of items that justify the price:

• An autumn-themed furoshiki
• A collectible coin
• An exclusive 5x7 art print
• Hanafuda cards
• A wax-sealed envelope
• A Leonardo Hanafuda chase card, randomly inserted

The chase card is the hook for completionists. Not every set includes it, so luck plays its role once again in this type of release.

A Collaboration That's Nothing New

Usagi Yojimbo and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have shared history since the 1980s. Sakai's character appeared in the TMNT animated series and their comics, when the franchises coexisted in a shared universe of independent creators. This figure celebrates that relationship, with a Leonardo who moves away from the classic green to match the ronin's monochromatic style.

The autumn set follows NECA's line of 7-inch figures aimed at adult collectors. The purchase window is limited, and with 500 pieces, stock won't last. Distribution is exclusive to Walmart, with no confirmed restock date.
