TRAVAS TOKYO and NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE Launch Shibuya Pop-Up on October 23

Eight products featuring new BEBE illustrations and six bonus postcards debut at the AMNIBUS store in Shibuya Modi through November 8.

Juan Castillo 6 October 2026

NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE crosses paths with street fashion in a collaboration with TRAVAS TOKYO opening its doors this very month: the pop-up shop kicks off on October 23 on the third floor of Shibuya Modi, inside the AMNIBUS STORE -green- space, and will run through November 8. The announcement comes with the full breakdown of merchandise, prices, and the lottery-based entry system for opening day.

This is not just another franchise collaboration. NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE, the WSS playground game that won over the community with its raw portrayal of internet fame and a streamer's mental health, has been steadily producing official material since 2022. Now its aesthetic merges with the urban proposal of TRAVAS TOKYO, a brand that has previously approached other licenses with collections designed to bring anime to the streets without looking like gift-shop cosplay.

What You'll Be Able to Buy in Shibuya

The collection consists of eight products featuring brand-new illustrations by BEBE, the illustrator behind the original designs of the protagonists. The items will be sold at the physical store before any other channel: this is an early sale, not a permanent exclusive launch. Some items will later reach the AMNIBUS website and Animate, though the organizers warn that part of the catalog may not reopen orders in the future.

Among the confirmed items are two pin sets with an aurora effect: one featuring KAngel —the protagonist's virtual alter ego— and another featuring Ame-chan. The pins measure about 56 millimeters in diameter and cost 1,210 yen per set. There are also two large-format acrylic stands, nearly 19.5 centimeters on their longest side, with the same iridescent finish: 2,530 yen each.

The catalog doesn't stop there. The brand has prepared holographic cards with a concert-ticket-inspired design at 550 yen, banner-style keychains with carabiners at 2,750 yen, and a high-end piece: a layered acrylic art panel of KAngel and Ame-chan priced at 17,600 yen. It's the expensive treat of the collection, meant for display cases rather than pockets.

How the Lottery and Postcards Work

The warning that interests me most concerns the first-day operations. On October 23, showing up early won't be enough: entry will be assigned by lottery, with numbers distributed starting at 10:15 AM in the plaza on the first floor of Shibuya Modi. Distribution begins ten minutes later, and it's not on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who line up before the indicated time gain nothing; those who arrive late won't be able to join the lottery line either.

Entry time slots will be posted around 10:50 AM on the official AMNIBUS STORE X account. The first slot begins at 11:15 and each group will have fifteen minutes inside, with only one purchase allowed per number. To me, this system feels like a relief: it avoids the chaos of absurd camping in Shibuya and distributes opportunities more evenly, though the trade-off is that you could wake up early and still end up left out. That's how arbitrary luck can be.

Throughout the pop-up's run, every purchase of 2,000 yen in collaboration items will earn one random postcard from a set of six designs. Note: receipts cannot be combined, postcards are only handed out at the physical store, and stock will last until supplies run out. Online purchases do not qualify for this benefit. It's a detail designed to push in-person visits, which makes sense for an event that ultimately relies on the experience of going to Shibuya.

The organizers haven't forgotten about everyone else. Starting October 23, the AMNIBUS online store will open pre-orders, and Animate will begin accepting reservations on November 9, the day after the pop-up closes. The question remains whether all items will make it to online sales or if some will remain physical-store exclusives. The announcement itself leaves it up in the air, and with this type of launch, the sensible assumption is that the expensive and rare items will sell out first.

A Collection That Understands the Game's Identity

What comes through in BEBE's artwork is a commitment to designs that mix typography, saturated colors, and poses of both sides of the protagonist. TRAVAS TOKYO doesn't try to dress NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE up as something it isn't: it captures the contrast between KAngel's superficial sweetness and Ame-chan's intimacy, and translates it into products without fully taming it. The 17,600-yen piece is the boldest one, and I don't think it will sell out quickly, but it defines how far the brand is willing to go.

The store also plans to display plushies wearing the collaboration outfits, a bonus for those who just go to look around or take photos. Hours will be from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM with free entry from day two onward. The location helps: Shibuya Modi is a stone's throw from the station, and AMNIBUS STORE has become a regular spot for this kind of alliance between fashion, anime, and niche culture. The original game, for its part, maintains its cult status —loud, imperfect, and very aware of what it wants to say— and seeing it now in a circuit of pop-ups with international reach says a lot about its staying power.

Will you be heading to Shibuya this month, or will you wait for the online sale? Let me know if this collection wins you over or if you think the game deserved a different type of merchandise.
