Second Wave of Jujutsu Kaisen Figures Arrives in Mid-October
Takara Tomy Arts launches four 400-yen capsule figures featuring Yuji, Fushiguro, Kugisaki, and Gojo.
Takara Tomy Arts announced the release of the second wave of the Katazun Fig. Anime Jujutsu Kaisen 5th Anniversary line for mid-October. Each capsule will cost 400 yen and the set includes Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and Satoru Gojo.
The Katazun Fig. line is defined by a very specific gesture: the characters lean on someone's shoulder, with that dead weight of someone who unintentionally fell asleep. It's a pose that works well in these pocket-sized figures, especially with characters who rarely relax in the series. Seeing Gojo asleep on someone's shoulder is pretty amusing.
Four Characters, Four Poses
The first wave already explored that idea with expressions and postures unique to each character. This second installment follows the same approach. The figures measure between 48 and 53 mm, a size designed for collecting without taking up much space. They aren't articulated figures or highly detailed pieces, but they deliver what they promise: a moment of calm within a series that offers no respite.
The character selection comes as no surprise. They are the main trio and the franchise's most popular teacher. What might stand out is that Kugisaki continues to appear in new merchandise, something manga readers will understand without further explanation. The anime has managed to keep her alive in products even when the original story sidelined her for long stretches.
A Line Celebrating the Anniversary
This release is part of the celebration for the fifth anniversary of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime, which began airing in October 2020. Since then, the franchise hasn't stopped generating figures, collaborations, and re-releases. Takara Tomy Arts bet on a low-cost, small-format line, ideal for capsule machines, and this second wave confirms the first one was a success.
The 400-yen price per pull keeps it in the accessible range of gachapon. This isn't a line for those looking for display pieces with scale-level finishes, but for those who want to add characters without overthinking it. And with Jujutsu Kaisen, that audience is massive.
