Wind Breaker Cafe Comes to Tokyo and Osaka with Halloween and Squirrel Menus
Princess Cafe hosts the collaboration from October 24 to November 20, split into two phases with brand-new chibi visuals.
The Wind Breaker franchise is celebrating the fall season with a new dining collaboration in Japan. Princess Cafe, a chain specializing in anime-themed cafés, will host the event at two of its locations: Ikebukuro in Tokyo and Hirakata in Osaka.
The campaign kicks off on October 24 and runs through November 20. That's nearly a month of a takeover café, with two clearly distinct themed blocks. The first half is dedicated to Halloween, from October 24 to November 6. The second, from November 7 to 20, shifts the concept entirely to focus on squirrels.
The appeal lies in the type of illustrations chosen. Instead of the anime's usual style, the café uses chibi versions of the characters. For the Halloween portion, the Bofurin boys are dressed with motifs from the holiday. For the squirrels, an autumn setting with fallen leaves and acorns scattered everywhere.
Wind Breaker comes from the manga of the same name by Satoru Nii, which in recent years has carved out a place among street-fighting shōnen thanks to its blend of action, comedy, and a huge ensemble cast. The anime adaptation gave it the definitive push, and since then it hasn't lacked for collaborations like this in Japan's themed café circuit.

The café will operate the same way in both locations. Princess Cafe Ikebukuro and the Hirakata branch will share the same dates, the same visuals, and the same rotation schedule. That's not always the case: sometimes chains reserve a different menu for each city, but no differences have been announced here.
What's missing is the juicy detail: the menu. As of now, no food, drinks, or desserts are known. Nor is the full catalog of exclusive products. Official information promises that the food and merch list will be published later, with no exact date.
That leaves a window of uncertainty for those planning to travel. Anyone who wants to make sure the menu is worth it will have to wait a bit, though with Wind Breaker it's normal to expect at least a couple of drinks per character and some themed dish featuring Bofurin's colors.
Reservations and the access system haven't been detailed yet either. Princess Cafe usually operates on advance reservations with time slots, but it's best not to take anything for granted until the official website publishes the instructions.
Fall, the Favorite Season for Themed Cafés
A series launching a café in October with a Halloween theme surprises no one. It's the pattern every season: collaborations with costume parties take over Akihabara, Ikebukuro, and any shopping center with a themed café chain. What gives this one some personality is the squirrel twist in the final stretch.
This isn't the first time Wind Breaker has stopped by Princess Cafe, and I doubt it will be the last. The franchise performs well in the chibi illustration format, and these types of events are a treat for fans who want physical exclusives. The question is whether the menu will live up to it or if it'll stop at cute mugs and coasters.
For now, the only certainty is the schedule: Halloween from October 24 to November 6, squirrels from November 7 to 20. And two cities to choose from. If you're in Japan around those dates, it's an easy stop if it's on your way. If not, you'll have to wait for photos of the interior to go up.
