Firefly Wedding anime gets two pop-up shops in Tokyo
The celebration kicks off on December 15 at the Maruzen bookstore in Marunouchi and will sell goods with exclusive illustrations of Satoko, Shinpei, and Kotaro.
The anime adaptation of Firefly Wedding (Hotaru no Yomeiri) will have two pop-up shops in Tokyo. Fam Entertainment, the company behind the project, announced that the spaces will open at the Machida Modi shopping center and the Maruzen bookstore in Marunouchi to sell goods with new illustrations.
The Maruzen shop already has dates: from December 15, 2026, to January 4, 2027. For the Machida Modi location, the announcement does not specify when it will open.
The main draw is the illustrations made for the occasion. Satoko, Shinpei, and Kotaro appear making a heart with their fingers, with a shyness that contrasts with the manga's tension. It's a lighter image than the series' usual atmosphere.
Merchandise related to 'Firefly Wedding'.The products also use a floral motif drawn from scratch, inspired by the flowers on the covers of the original manga. It wasn't detailed which items will be for sale, but the announcement mentions "many products" with these illustrations.
A manga with over five million copies
Firefly Wedding is a suspense romance that has surpassed five million copies in circulation. The series won the 2024 electronic manga award, a recognition that gave it more visibility before the anime announcement.
The manga author made her commercial debut in 2017 with the one-shot Kachō-sama to Shinjin-kun in Manga One magazine. She then published Promise Cinderella between 2018 and 2022, a series that reached 16 volumes and had a drama adaptation in 2021 with Fumi Nikaidō as the lead.
Fam Entertainment, the company organizing the shops, was founded in May 2025 as a subsidiary of the Fam group. Its president is Masahiko Ibaraki, and its board includes Hiroyuki Kondō from the Mash group, known for fashion, beauty, and food businesses.
The Firefly Wedding anime still has no confirmed premiere date in this announcement. The pop-up shops work as a lead-up: a way to keep the series' name moving while the adaptation approaches.
