Claymore creator launches new manga BARTLET FAIRY BASSLET
Norihiro Yagi publishes the first chapter on the Shonen Jump+ app with weekly updates every Monday.
Norihiro Yagi, author of Claymore, launched his new series, BARTLET FAIRY BASSLET, on November 2. The manga is published on the Shonen Jump+ app and will update weekly every Monday, according to Oricon.
The story follows a rider who is taking a girl back home. Along the way, something the source describes as "a fish of darkness" crosses their path and sets off a fantasy adventure. The opening was enough to get Yagi's name trending on social media again.
The first comments gathered by Oricon point in that direction: "I thought it would be a sequel to Claymore", "The art is still just as good", "My heart skipped a beat thinking it was a continuation". There are also readers celebrating the return with a "We finally get an anime!", a reaction the source includes among reader messages.
A long-awaited return after Claymore
Yagi first made a name for himself with Claymore, a dark fantasy action manga published in Monthly Shonen Jump and later in Jump Square. The series, starring half-human half-monster warriors, became one of the magazine's standout titles and received an anime adaptation in 2007.
The online anticipation is clear from how quickly readers reacted to the first chapter, available starting today on Shueisha's platform.
Publication will be weekly, with new installments every Monday. For now, the report does not specify how many chapters the series will have or whether a print edition will come later.
