Cardfight!! Vanguard announces Vail Lift anime for its 15th anniversary

Bushiroad revealed the first teaser for Cardfight!! Vanguard Vail Lift, the series that will celebrate the franchise's 15 years in 2027. The announcement came during the Bushiroad TCG Strategy Presentation 2026 Autumn event, held on October 28.

Ito Akira, creator of the original Vanguard, returns as the person in charge of character designs and of the work. Animation is handled by Kinema Citrus, the studio that already worked on the Divinez saga.

The teaser shows keywords about the world of the series and some preliminary illustrations. There are no images of the cast or the protagonists yet. Bushiroad also confirmed that there will be a production presentation event, available afterwards as an archive. The promotional video appears starting at the 18:30 mark of the recorded broadcast.

A double celebration for Lyrical Monasterio fans

The franchise doesn't stop there. Ghost Meets Girl!, the mini anime airing since September 5, will have a second season. The short series adapts Kaeru DX's manga published on the official Vanguard account and is set in the school city of Lyrical Monasterio.

The author and director Morii Kenshiro left comments about the announcement. The story follows Lubna, a shy ghost who dreams of being an idol, and Santi, a diligent gyaru. Two opposite girls who form an endearing duo.

Ghost Meets Girl! airs on TV Aichi and the TV Tokyo network on Saturdays at 8:00, and on BS Nittele at 23:30. The opening is "Nikoichi Mirai" by Yumemita Myu-Type.

The Divinez saga is still going

Cardfight!! Vanguard started as an anime in January 2011 and hasn't stopped since. The current stage, with Akina Myodo as the protagonist, began in 2024 under the Divinez label. Its most recent installment, Divinez Unmei Seisen-hen, had an early theatrical premiere on October 2.

With Vail Lift scheduled for next year and the second season of the mini anime on the way, the 15th anniversary is shaping up to be busy for the franchise.
