Boku no Suki na Hito ga Suki na Hito anime premieres in April 2027

The anime adaptation of Boku no Suki na Hito ga Suki na Hito (The Person My Favorite Person Likes) now has a date: it will premiere in April 2027. The announcement comes with the first trailer, the key visual, and the names of the three voice actors who will play the main trio.

Gakuto Kajiwara plays Sora Akizuki, a second-year high school student who confesses to his childhood friend and ends up rejected. Haruna Mikawa voices Asahi Suzukaze, the president of the mysterious clinical trials club. And Nene Hieda plays Miyo Fuwa, the girl who rejects Sora because she already likes someone else.

A love triangle that doesn't resolve

The premise is as tangled as the title promises. Sora is in love with Miyo, but Miyo is in love with Asahi. And Asahi, for her part, is still looking for the "prince of clinical trials," a boy she met as a child. No one likes anyone back, and that creates a loop of unrequited love that is the basis of the comedy.

The manga, written by Sekina Aoi and illustrated by Ryo Tsuzura, is published in Hakusensha's Young Animal Zero magazine. Seven collected volumes are out in Japan, and the series has earned a place among romantic comedy readers for how well it handles misunderstandings.

The team behind the adaptation

Kazuomi Koga, known for Rent-a-Girlfriend, is directing. Yoriko Tomita, scriptwriter for My Dress-Up Darling, handles series composition. Takayuki Noguchi, who worked on The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, is in charge of character designs. Music is by Rina Tayama and animation is produced by studio project No.9.

The key visual shows the three protagonists lying on the school rooftop, an image that captures the youthful tone of the story. No additional cast members have been announced yet, nor the platform where it will be available outside Japan.

Kajiwara, whom you may remember for voicing Asta in Black Clover, describes Sora as someone with enormous social skills for everything except love. Mikawa talks about Asahi as "a cool and adorable hero," and Hieda confesses that Miyo's devotion to her favorite person seems "precious" to her.
