New key visual for the Gacha Girls Corps anime.A story that began as a web novel
Gacha Girls Corps started as a light novel written by Chinkururi with illustrations by Yasutaka Isekawa. It was first published as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro site in January 2016, and Micro Magazine released it in print under its GC Novels label: nine volumes between November 2016 and August 2020.
The manga adaptation came from Syuu Haruno, who has been serializing it in the online magazine Comic Ride since March 2018. Kaiten Books publishes the manga in English, and their synopsis follows a guy named Heihachi, addicted to mobile games, who one day gets an item that transports him to another world.
There, surrounded by monsters and with no way out, he pulls the gacha like he knows how and discovers that the units he summons materialize right in front of him. If it sounds like Konosuba with more gacha pulls, you're not far off.
The premise points to action, comedy, and a bunch of girls popping out of his phone. It remains to be seen how it all fits in anime form and whether Zero-G and Saber Works can make the summoning scenes shine.
