The Bless anime releases full trailer and visual, premieres on January 8
A-1 Pictures presents a 91-second preview with the ending theme by HIKKA and confirms the main cast
We finally have the first full trailer for Bless, the hit anime adapting Yukino Sonoyama's manga. The preview runs 91 seconds and shows its protagonists and the visual feel of the series, plus a taste of the ending theme "New Page," performed by HIKKA.
Along with the trailer, the team revealed a key visual of Aia Udagawa and Jun Sumisaki, drawn by character designer Honoka Yokoyama. Kaoru Miyazaki also worked on the visual as prop designer, Risa Wakabayashi as background art director, Mana Hokuto on color, and Eiki Eto on compositing.
Visual of Aia Udagawa and Jun Sumisaki, drawn by Honoka Yokoyama.Bless follows Aia, whom everyone sees as destined to be a model, and Jun, who is bullied for her freckles. Together they try to reclaim the power to define themselves in a fashion manga that questions what it really means to be beautiful and how to overcome a system that seems to respect talent more than effort.
Premieres on January 8 with A-1 Pictures
The anime premieres on January 8 and is directed by Shotaro Kitamura at A-1 Pictures. Kitamura previously worked on Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!, and he isn't the only one on the team from that project: Takayuki Kikuchi is the assistant director and Akane Takeda the costume designer.
Series composition and scripts are handled by Fukuro Kamiza, who worked as a co-writer on Non Non Biyori Nonstop and Deaimon. Music is composed by Ryo Yoshimata, known for After the Rain.
A curious detail in the credits is that the affiliation of A-1 Pictures staff is listed, which is unusual in staff announcements. That way it's clear who belongs to the studio and who works freelance.
