The final episode of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Calamity Arc now has a synopsis and first images. Chapter 50, titled "DEATH & STRAWBERRY", jumps ten years forward after the battle against Yhwach and sets the action in a Soul Society trying to return to normal.
Dengeki Online published the official summary along with several screenshots from the episode. They show the characters with updated designs, reflecting the passage of time the story establishes.
Ten years after the great battle
According to the synopsis, ten years have passed since the so-called Great War to Protect the Soul King. The Seireitei was reduced to ashes during the fight against Yhwach, but it has gradually been rebuilt and has regained its calm.
The story begins on the very day the last area to be restored is finished. That same day, the Gotei 13 prepares to appoint a new captain. The ceremony coincides with an alert from the Department of Research and Development, which detects a disturbing spiritual pressure.
The episode title, "DEATH & STRAWBERRY", refers to the first chapter of Tite Kubo's original manga. A nod that makes sense with this ending that looks to the past from a very different present.
