FLOW performs Naruto anthems in Manila to a sold-out crowd
The Japanese band played their songs for the series and covers of other openings during their 'Naruto the Rock' world tour.
FLOW once again turned a stage into the Hidden Leaf Village. The Japanese band packed the SM North EDSA Skydome in Quezon City on Tuesday, October 20, with their world tour FLOW: Naruto the Rock, a sold-out show dedicated entirely to the music of Naruto.
The quintet performed the songs they recorded for the anime as well as covers of other memorable openings from the series. The crowd showed up wearing franchise T-shirts, forehead protectors with the Konoha spiral, Akatsuki cloaks, and ninja vests.
The band opened with their version of the Naruto Main Theme, originally by Musashi Project, and then jumped into Haruka Kanata, the Asian Kung-Fu Generation classic. As the songs played, the screens projected scenes from the anime: battles from the Chūnin Exams arc and deaths of characters like Asuma Sarutobi and Itachi Uchiha.
FLOW's own songs were the heart of the show
The strongest moments came with the band's original contributions to the series: Re:member, Sign, and GO!!!. Their covers of Yura Yura and Hero's Come Back!! also played, and all of them drew the loudest singalongs of the night.
The concert lasted over an hour and the energy never dropped. Fans sang, raised their fists, and jumped so hard the floor seemed to move under their feet.
"Manila, that was a powerful night," the band wrote on Instagram after the show. "Your voices, your energy, your vibes, everything made our performance bigger."
A solo return more than a year later
This solo concert came more than a year after FLOW played the New Frontier Theater as part of Anisama World 2025 in Manila, the anime music festival.
FLOW formed in the late nineties and gained international recognition mainly through their songs for anime series. The band is made up of vocalists Keigo and Kōshi, guitarist Take, bassist Got's, and drummer Iwasaki.
Naruto began as a manga by Masashi Kishimoto before becoming an anime in 2002. In the Philippines, the series aired on ABS-CBN. It follows Naruto Uzumaki, a young, hyperactive ninja who, despite being shunned by his village, dreams of becoming Hokage.
