Gachiakuta returns in November: chapter 174 has a date

Kei Urana confirms the manga is back in Weekly Shōnen Magazine after a three-month research hiatus.

The Gachiakuta manga returns on November 11, 2026. Kei Urana, its author, announced it this Thursday on her X/Twitter account (@KEI_URANA) with a new illustration teasing what's coming in chapter 174.

The series had been on hiatus since August 5, when its latest installment ran in the combined #36 and #37 issue of Weekly Shōnen Magazine. At the time, publisher Kodansha explained that Urana needed time for research, not because of a health issue. Still, the lack of a concrete date had left readers with more questions than answers.

On September 8, the magazine itself tried to calm things down: it said the return would be announced once a decision was made. Now, a month later, the mangaka has stepped forward and shared the date directly with her followers.

A research hiatus, not a health one

It's not unusual for a mangaka to take a break for research. Yukinobu Tatsu, author of Dandadan, does it fairly often and his readers are used to the interruptions. In Urana's case, the break has been longer than usual, but at least it's not due to a health problem.

Health-related hiatuses tend to be the most unpredictable. Look at Eiichiro Oda with One Piece, who steps away for a week or two now and then, or Daisuke Ashihara (World Trigger) and Yoshihiro Togashi (Hunter x Hunter), who have spent years alternating between serialization and long breaks. Compared to that, three months of waiting for Gachiakuta feels like nothing.

The illustration Urana shared doesn't reveal much, but it's enough to whet the appetite. Fans of Rudo Surebrec and the Cleaners now have a day marked on the calendar.

Where to read it and what's up with the anime

Chapter 174 will be available in Weekly Shōnen Magazine and on K MANGA, Kodansha's official platform. There's still no news on the anime's second season, so we'll have to wait on that front.
