Dragon Ball Super: Broly comes to the Japón se Anima cycle in the Canary Islands for free
The 2018 film screens in Japanese with Spanish subtitles on November 10 and 12 in Gran Canaria and Tenerife
Seeing Goku and Vegeta on the big screen is always a plan, but if it's free too, there's no excuse. Filmoteca Canaria includes Dragon Ball Super: Broly in its Japón se Anima cycle, with two screenings scheduled across the islands.
The film, directed by Tatsuya Nagamine and released in 2018, screens on Tuesday, November 10 at 19:00 at Teatro Guiniguada, in Gran Canaria, and on Thursday, November 12 at the same time at Espacio La Granja, in Tenerife. Tickets are free and can be picked up at the box office or on the websites of both venues.
The screening will be in Japanese with Spanish subtitles, so it's time to enjoy the original Japanese voices.
A story that returns to the essence of Dragon Ball
The plot takes place after the Tournament of Power, when Earth is enjoying a period of peace. Goku keeps training as if there were no tomorrow, but his suspicions that hidden threats still exist are confirmed when he crosses paths with Broly, a Saiyan who should have disappeared along with Planet Vegeta.
As if that weren't enough, Frieza returns from hell and things get serious. The result is a clash of forces that leads Goku to fight once more to save the planet. Pure Dragon Ball at its most intense.
Overflowing action, faithful to Toriyama's spirit
The film stands out for animation that holds nothing back: the scenery disappears, the camera dives straight into the combat, and the protagonists raise their power to levels we hadn't seen before. It also keeps the values of friendship and pride that have always defined the franchise created by Akira Toriyama.
The Japón se Anima cycle enters its final stretch with this screening. After revisiting several memorable stories from contemporary Japanese animation, Filmoteca Canaria will close the program with two films by Makoto Shinkai: 5 Centimeters per Second and Weathering with You, which will screen in Gran Canaria and Tenerife until the first week of December.
