The anime also confirms its voice actors and fine-tunes the designs to bring them closer to Ryoko Kui's manga.

Delicious in Dungeon is showing more familiar faces from its second season. The anime has released the first designs for Falin, Kabru, Mithrun and Thistle, four characters who will return in the new episodes, and has confirmed their voice actors: Saori Hayami as Falin, Wataru Kato as Kabru, Koki Uchiyama as Mithrun and Yu Kobayashi as Thistle.

The reveal comes months after the first look at the main group, made up of Laios, Marcille, Chilchuck, Senshi and Izutsumi. With these four names, the cast for the new stage is taking shape little by little, and the production team is using the chance to show how it has adjusted the character designs.

The goal is to make them look closer to the original art of Ryoko Kui, the manga's author. It's not a radical change, but a fine-tuning that was already hinted at in the first designs of the season and is now confirmed with these four returns.

A premiere that's still a ways off

The second season of Delicious in Dungeon is scheduled for October 2027 on Netflix, so there's still a year to go. There's no concrete date within that month yet, but the anime's official account has started moving the promotional machinery with these previews.

The first season adapted 24 episodes and left the story halfway through the manga. Laios and his group discovered that the only way to truly save Falin was to devour every piece of the dragon, an ending that opened a new path for the second batch of episodes. If this new season adapts the rest of the work, everything points to it being the last.

Behind the production is the same team from the first installment: Yoshihiro Miyajima as director at Studio Trigger, Kimiko Ueno as story editor, Yasunori Mitsuda on music and Naoki Takeda on character designs. Also returning are the voices of Kentaro Kumagai as Laios, Sayaka Sembongi as Marcille, Asuna Tomari as Chilchuck, Hiroshi Naka as Senshi and Mitsuho Kambe as Izutsumi.

With the cast getting more complete and the designs on the table, the second season keeps taking shape ahead of its premiere. What do you think of the new designs? I'll read you in the comments.
