M Girls Gaiden: Saber Marionette Z

Three hundred years after the death of Star Face, marionettes are created with maiden circuits based on the six originals. However, these circuits have degenerated with each generation, and marionettes with defective circuits become rogue units that go berserk and destroy everything in their path.

Kitajima, the daughter of the late professor who researched a cure for the out-of-control maiden circuits, is determined to finish her father's work. She seeks the "Inheritance of Face," which is said to hold the answers to why the circuits are failing. While investigating the tomb of Face, she and her companions are attacked by rogue marionettes and are rescued by a strange marionette who calls herself Zero.
