It has been several centuries since human beings declined due to a steep drop in birthrates. The most prosperous species on Earth are now the Fairies, 10 cm tall creatures with high intelligence. A young woman, one of the few surviving humans, returns to her hometown to help her grandfather, working as a UN arbitrator between humans and fairies. She assumes her job will be easy and visits one of the fairies' habitats to say hello, but soon discovers that their strange and unpredictable nature makes her work far more complicated than she ever imagined.
As she digs up relics of the old civilization—CDs, electronics, and other forgotten items—she tries to befriend and study the fairies, who are both fascinating and baffling. Each encounter with them turns into a laid-back yet surreal report, blending everyday life with the bizarre. Through her eyes, the remnants of humanity's past are held up to a gentle, satirical light, revealing the absurdity of progress and the quiet melancholy of a world that has moved on.
